A year after her all-female mission aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard, the Slauson alum returns to a cheering crowd of eighth graders, sharing her path and fielding questions.

Students at A2 STEAM Middle School aren’t just building, coding, and testing robots—they’re developing teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of inclusion.

That commitment to outreach and making space for every student recently earned educator Sarah Van Loo a prestigious international honor. She was selected for the 2026 Inspire the Future: FIRST Recognition Program Educator Cohort, one of only 15 educators chosen from more than 400 nominees worldwide. 

Allen Elementary’s annual Vocabulary Parade in celebration of March’s National Reading Month was a huge success! Students and staff showed off their creativity by dressing up as all kinds of words. Even a class turtle got in on the fun.

AAPS hosted the annual A2 Area Invention Convention with 33 projects and 70 participants from Forsythe, Huron, Pioneer, and Skyline.  Twenty volunteer judges helped select the 11 award-winning projects and 21 students will now advance to the Michigan Invention Convention on Saturday, April 25th, at The Henry Ford Museum. Congrats to all, especially the following winners!
